PET SHOW

Do you have a pet?  Dog, Cat, Chicken, Goat, Rat, Snake, or something odd, strange or curious??  Bring it to the Festival Pet Show .

PARADE INFORMATION

The Annual Cy Young Days Festival Parade will be held Saturday June 24, 2017 at 6:00 PM  with line-up beginning at 5 and we would like to invite you to participate.  Ball teams...Please check out our "Record Setting Parade" tab at the top of this page. Our Grand Parade Marshall will be 1993 American League Cy Young Award winner, Jack McDowell.  Please consider decorating your unit with a baseball theme.

Festival Parade will start on Oak Street in the High School area.  It will go North on River to Church St.  It will travel East on Church to College Street and North on College to Main Street.  They will then go West on Main to Goodrich where they can disband.  For more information or to enter the parade, contact Debbie Rehard at 740 492-0326.

 If you are participating in the Parade please enter Beaver Street from State St.




TEST YOUR ARM!
A new event this year is the Long Toss competition.  Registration is from 12:00 to 12:45.   This event is for a team of 2, one to throw and one to catch.  They will throw to their catcher, who must catch the ball and the length of the throw will be increased with each successfully completed pitch and catch.  Girls will throw softballs, boys will throw baseballs. 
Age Groups:
  7 – 9
10 - 12
13 – 16
17 and over

Cash Prizes for winning team in each age category.

5:00 PM Tents, and Concessions Open.

5:00 PM Mayor speaking at opening ceremoies, 

5:30 PM Crowning of Cy Young Queen and her Court.

6:30 PM  Auctioning of Baskets, One basket to be signed by Jack McDowell, 1993  American League Cy Young Award Winner.

7:00 PM Variety Show



Saturday June 24th
 8:00 AM ​Cy Young Run, Starting at Cy Young Park

12:00 PM Tents and Concessions Open
 Luncheon with Jack McDowell, must have pre bought ticket.
 5:00 PM Parade Line up 
 6:00 PM Grand Parade with Parade Marshall Jack McDowell.
 7:00 PM Autograph signing with Jack McDowell at Old Main Street Museum immediately following parade. Located on Canal Street.
 8-11 PM Southern Rock Superstars, Lynyrd Skynyrd Tribute band.


Sunday June 25th 

11:30 AM Signup for kids long toss contest to begin immediately following and/or continue as needed between Old Timers Games
12:00 PM Tents, and Concessions Open 

  1:00 PM  Registration for car show on Main Street,
  1:00 PM  Old Timers game at Cy Young Park
  1:00 PM Talent Show on Canal Street Stage
   3:00 PM Car show registration ends on Main Street,
   5:00 PM Pass out car show awards and the closing of the festival.

Cy Young Days got talent!!
 Do you sing, dance, play an instrument, or have a band?  Are you a ventriloquist, comedian, or have other unique talents (G rated only)!!
Cy Young Days Festival will hold the annual Talent Show on Sunday June 26st at 3:00.  The categories this year have been expanded to 3, Ages 3-5, 6-12 and 13 to Adult.
Cash Prizes will be awarded, so if you are interested and would like to pre register, call Dora Cole at 740 202-2620.


Additional Seating is being added this year! (24) wooden benches with backs will be available during the festival.


 RAIN???
On the unlikely chance that foul weather will hit the area during our upcoming Festival, we have made some totally unneeded plans.

Entertainment, Pet Show and the Talent Show will move to the Laborers Local Hall at 150 River St.

 Car Show is Rain or Shine.
